How is Idealist funded?

Answer:

Idealist is a program of the nonprofit organization Action Without Borders. Action Without Borders is funded through Idealist's job posting service, contributions from individuals, and foundation support. For 2004-2005 we received funding from Ashoka, Carnegie Corporation of New York, The Ford Foundation, The Forbes Fund, POLO Ralph Lauren Foundation, Skoll Foundation, and The Surdna Foundation.
